  • 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 diced onions
  • 1 tbsp thyme leaves fresh and coarsely chopped
  • 2 cups sour cream
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Kosher Salt to taste
  • 1/2 tbsp freshly ground pepper
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh chives for garnish
  • Potato chips for serving


  • Take a large skillet and heat a little oil in it.
  • Put onions in it followed by thyme. Cook for a long time until you mixture including the onions gets soft enough.
  • Cook for 15-20 minutes at least.
  • Then reduce the heat, let the mixture sizzle and set it aside to let it air cool.
  • To take a step forward, mix sour cream with mayonnaise in a small container or a bowl.
  • Add in the Worcestershire sauce and season your creamy mixture with salt and pepper.
  • In the next step, add the cooked onion mixture and whisk until combined completely.
  • Cover the container from the top and chill it for at least an hour or maximum long time. You can also keep it in the fridge overnight.
  • When your dip is all ready to serve, garnish it with chives and serve your delicious dip with potato chips.
