Cracker Barrel Pinto Beans Recipe

  • 2 lb dry pinto beans
  • 1 lb cubed chicken
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 10 tbsp sweet pickle relish
  • 2 raw onions chopped


  • Soak all the beans in water in a container at night according to the directions on the package.
  • Drain and rinse the beans the next morning and you will see these are swelled and softened.
  • Combine chicken, rinsed beans, and onion powder in a pressure cooker. Also, garlic powder is added.
  • Fill the cooker with water until all the material is dipped in it. Cook at slow heat for several hours.
  • Cook until the beans tenderize. Also, you can add some seasonings including apple cider vinegar, some salt, and black pepper. This will enhance its taste.
  • Your Cracker Barrel-style beans are ready. To beautify every bowl, top it before serving with raw onions and a tablespoon of sweet relish.
  • Also if you wanna do some decorations at the top, you can use a small amount of whipping cream.
