Sweet Hawaiian Crockpot Chicken Recipe

Crockpot recipes are usually easy to make because you simply add all the ingredients into the pot and Crockpot does rest of the work. Sweet Hawaiian Crockpot Chicken recipe is super easy to follow. It requires only chicken pieces soaked in sweet pineapple sauce.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs chicken (boneless and skinless – cut into 1-2 inch pieces)
  • 1 tablespoon garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon ginger (grated)
  • 1/3 cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 1/3 cup hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon lime zest
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1 20 oz can pineapple with juice
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 red bell pepper (1-inch pieces)
  • 1 yellow bell pepper (1-inch pieces)
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 4 tablespoons orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch

Garnish:

  • 4 green onions sliced
  •  Sesame seeds

How to make sweet chicken in Crockpot

Heat sesame oil in a large skillet and fry chicken until brown.

Add chicken to Crockpot and rest of the ingredients except cornstarch and orange juice.

Cover the Crockpot with the lid and cook on Low for 7 to 8 hours or on High for 3 to 4 hours.

Mix cornstarch +orange juice and add it to chicken during the last 30 minutes of cooking.

Garnish and serve hot with white rice. Enjoy!
