Recipe of Matar Kulcha

  • 3 cups water for boiling matar
  • Salt to taste

  • 1 medium-sized onion, chopped
  • 1 medium tomato, diced
  • 1 green chili, chopped
  • 3 tbsp green chutney
  • 3 tbsp tamarind chutney
  • 2 tbsp chaat masala
  • 1 tbsp roasted cumin seed
  • 1/4 tbsp red chili powder
  • 1/2 inch ginger, chopped
  • 1 tbsp cilantro leaves, chopped
  • 2 tbsp oil

For toppings

  • Thinly sliced ginger
  • Chopped onion
  • Freshly chopped tomatoes
  • Chopped cilantro leaves
  • Lemon juice

How to make delicious Matar Kulcha in Indian style?

  1. First of all, rinse and soak the measured amount of peas in water for 8-10 hours or overnight.
  2. And the next day you will see that peas have absorbed enough water and have swollen.
  3. After draining the water transfer the peas into the cooking pot and add 3 cups of water to it. Cook at high flame for about 10-15 minutes after sealing the top with the lid of the pot.
  4. Once they are cooked, remove the lid to uncover the peas and let them stand until we manage the remaining process and ingredients.
  5. Now, in the very next step, grab a large bowl and add this cooked matar to this bowl. Throw in the chopped tomatoes along with the chopped onion in this bowl.
  6. Now sprinkle the green chutney followed by the tamarind chutney gently.
