Fried Chicken Recipe without Buttermilk

Fried chicken without buttermilk is a crispy chicken recipe that you can make quickly on Sundays. This recipe is made without buttermilk. Ingredients

  • 1 pound chicken pieces
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

Chicken Marinade

  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1/2 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Coating Mixture

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili powder optional
  • 1 teaspoon salt

How to make fried chicken

In a bowl, add and whisk together soy sauce, ketchup, paprika, garlic powder, salt and pepper.

In another large bowl, place chicken pieces add marinade mixture. Mix them well. Marinate in the refrigerator for an hour.

Take a deep dish; add flour, cornstarch, paprika, turmeric powder, salt and chili powder if you like.

Now start coating the chicken pieces one by one in the flour mixture. Dip the piece in water and then coat again in the flour mixture. In this way, coat all the chicken pieces.

Heat the oil and deep fry chicken for 5 to 7 minutes on one side. Place them on paper towel before serving.

Serve the crispy chicken pieces with mayonnaise or ketchup.
